# KIN Token Utility

## Foundation Governance

$KIN holders participate in governance decisions\*, influencing policies, setting ecosystem standards, and shaping the evolution of Kindred’s ecosystem.

Note that the governance decisions that $KIN holders are able to participate in do not relate to governance of the Issuer or any company or other entity, but rather just involves governance of the Kindred ecosystem.

## Compute Credits

Spend $KIN to purchase compute minutes for chat, voice, vision, and long-context reasoning. Credits are consumable and time-boxed, directly mapping token spend to actual usage of the AI companion.

## IP Packs & Personalization

Activate licensed character packs, premium voiceprints, and cosmetic sets with $KIN. These are time-limited access rights and cosmetics that renew only if you choose, keeping the focus on fan experience and utility.

## AI Tools, Skills & Templates Marketplace

Pay $KIN to install agent skills, promptkits, and workflow templates. Creators earn platform credits; Kindred may charge small $KIN listing or transaction fees and require refundable safety bonds, with reputation stamps improving discoverability.

## Teams & Shared Seats

Allocate $KIN to add family/team seats, share skills, and enable shared memories. Time-boxed entitlements align costs to collaboration and make multi-user setups simple and predictable.

## API calls, Autonomy & Agent-to-Agent Interaction

Preload $KIN budgets for approved autonomous actions (API calls, tools, storage) with hard caps and transparent logs. Agents can also pay micro-fees in $KIN to request services from other agents, enabling safe, lightweight internal settlement.

## Memory, Sync & Storage

Spend $KIN to expand long-term memory limits, increase cross-device sync capacity, and cover persistent storage or data export. Power users can tune these limits to match their workflow and data needs.
